Alain Michel RIOU - Presentation
Born in 1963, he studied guitar with Olivier CHASSAIN in the Conservatory of Music of Orléans, then improved one's guitar with Oscar GHIGLIA in france and in Italy. In the same time he studied the musicology (History of art and music, analysis, harmony ...) in the University of Paris-Sorbonne. He passed the "Maîtrise" of Musical Education with a work on "L'oeuvre pour guitare de Maurice OHANA" (The guitar'works by Maurice OHANA) and passed the DEA (Thorougt Study Diplom) with a work on the composer Félix IBARRONDO.
To have meet Maurice OHANA has determinated him to compose.
His music, always atonal, isn't a formal or structural research, but use the means opened by these researches to find out and to express imaginaries poetics spaces. Art being for him above all " a subtle mixture of know-how, reason and instinct ".
Persuaded that the human being acts on his environment as an erosive force, an edifying energy, carving, and at the same moment destructive, he notices that the artist also acts on appropriate materials for his art and that it is the energy so put there uvre that is really perceptible and considerable by the listener. The raw material becomes secondary in consideration of the forces which model it. From there is born all the theater of the energies, persons who, from the chemistry to the psychology, by way of the cosmogony, perish, ignore or sublimate themselves. A landscape becomes then the representation outside ourselves forces which build us or destroy us.
